Concert by Jouni & Anna-Claudia Somero
Thursday, 22 October at 6:00 PM
Kangasniemi Hall, Municipal Building
Join us for a unique concert experience celebrating the beloved poetry of Eino Leino, brought to life through music. The year 2026 marks the 100th anniversary of Eino Leino’s death, making this performance especially meaningful. The occasion is made even more significant by Leino’s connection to Kangasniemi, where he spent summers visiting his friend, poet Otto Manninen.
The concert features the acclaimed father-and-daughter duo Jouni and Anna-Claudia Somero, two outstanding Finnish music professionals.
Jouni Somero – Vocals, Piano and Stories
Pianist Jouni Somero, Finland’s most recorded instrumental artist, has performed more than 3,500 concerts worldwide and released over 110 albums. His distinguished career spans more than 45 years, beginning with his debut concert in February 1981. During the evening, he will share music, songs, and stories related to Eino Leino and the composers featured in the program.
Anna-Claudia Somero – Vocals and Flute
A highly musical singer raised in a family of musicians, Anna-Claudia Somero has spent her life surrounded by music, performances, and touring. She began studying music and performing at an early age and has developed her artistry through years of experience on stage.
Although she graduated from music school with the flute as her principal instrument and has also studied acting, singing has always been closest to her heart. Life’s challenges and personal experiences have brought remarkable depth to her interpretations, and her powerful stage presence and moving performances continue to receive praise from audiences across Finland.
