Soprano Loviisa Viro and tenor Seppo Pänkäläinen will hold the church concert “The greatest of them is love” at Kangasniemi Church.
Dir.mus. Seppo Pänkäläinen has arranged or composed all the songs as duets and he also accompanies the performances on the grand piano. The central theme of all the songs is love. Most of the songs are gospel-type songs, composed by Pekka Simojoki and Petri Laaksonen among others. The specialty of this concert will be the song series “Letters between two fronts” composed by Pänkäläinen. The song series is based on the correspondence between the composer’s father and mother from the Finnish Winter War. The lyrics of the songs are verbatim from the letters of a married couple who got married in the summer of -39.
