The memorial stone of his birth place

The memorial stone of poet professor Otto Manninen's birth place stands by the Hokantie road. 

He wrote most of his production in Kangasniemi. His wife Anni Swan also spent a great deal of time at the family's summer place on an island in lake Puulavesi. 

Memorial statue in Anni Swanin puisto park

The year 1997 marked the 125th birthday of the respected Kangasniemi poet. A monument honouring Otto Manninen's memory by sculptor Ukri Merikanto stands in the Anni Swanin puisto park in the centre of the main village by the Otto Mannisen tie street.
